ColourPop x Disney Lipstick Review

Hello everyone!

I know this Colourpop x Disney collaboration was literally more than half a year ago, I didn't really intend to get the lipsticks because I tend to be impatient with shipping and I needed $50 to get free shipping (lol totally a cheapo rn). However, a friend of mine decided she did want to get a few things from Colourpop's site so I decided to get the ones I've been eyeing!

I got 3 shades from the Villains collection and one from the Designer collection, which have their products named after the Disney princesses.

For this blogpost, I decided to come up with some looks that I'd style these lipsticks with, just so that it's a little bit more than just a swatch and simple review. All these shades are crème lux lipsticks so the formulas will more or less look and feel similar, which they definitely did when I swatched them.

First impressions: They're very creamy and have a nice sheen to them! Not too matte, not too glossy, which isn't too bad. I personally prefer soft matte finishes but those usually come with lip tints/lip cushions, so no complains there.

I did consider getting others like Belle from the Designer Collection and Evil Queen from the Villains Collection, but I realised Belle might end up looking too pink on me, thus making me look a lot more tanned than I already am, and I did have something similar to Evil Queen already, so I decided to be adventurous and get Cruella instead!

Not going to lie, I was very tempted to get the Jelly Much Shadows in Perfectly Wretched and Spindle from the Villains collection but I decided against it since I barely use these sort of eyeshadows, and I definitely buy too many eyeshadow palettes for my own good! So I told myself, just the lippies!

Now, let's get on to the looks!

This shade was described on their website as a peachy beige nude.

I am pretty disappointed that the Designer collection did not have any form of engraving in the actual lipstick unlike the Villains collection (you'll see what I'm talking about later). However, I'm a massive fan of the gold packaging, it looks beautiful, even though I'm sure that the designs on them will scratch out sooner or later.

I decided to make this an everyday sort of look!

Somewhere along the lines of 'I'm not going anywhere special, but I'd like to look good' or 'tiny bit of make up but nothing else' kind of look! I actually really love the shade of this lipstick, I think it's pretty flattering on my skin tone! not to mention, Ariel is my favourite Disney princess.

This shade was described on their website as a mid-tone warm berry.

This colour was the first one that caught my eye in the Disney collection. It does tend to look a lot darker in person than it does in the pictures, but I personally think it's quite a flattering colour for me! I love the packaging from the villains collection, the neon on the cardboard box and the matte printing on the case to the embossed 'villains' on the actual lipstick.

I did something a little on the 'edgy' end of the spectrum.

I LOVE this shade. I'd say it was my favourite out of the four that I bought! Absolutely love it! I didn't actually think that I would love this shade so much, but I really do!

This shade was described on their website as a neutral peachy nude.

I wasn't really sure what I was trying to achieve with this look.

I'm happy with how it turned out, but I don't think the lipstick is the star here. I'm quite on the fence about the colour because it does look a little too light for my skin tone in real life, but it photographs pretty well.

This shade was described on their website as a vibrant yellow red.

If you're wondering why this one didn't come with a box, it's because my friend and I bought the Cruella Collection and she took the highlighter (which broke in shipping lol) and lip gloss, while I took the lipstick!

I was surprised at how fair this lipstick made me look. I wasn't used to the shade of red at all. I haven't worn something so striking in a very long time and I'm not sure how to feel about it. I don't think it's too bad, but I don't know when I'd wear a shade like this again!

That's all I have for you guys today! I'd say my favourite from the 4 would be Ariel! It's definitely the most versatile and it suits my skin tone the best. I hope you guys enjoyed this blogpost, I'll see you in my next one!

xx
