Hello everyone! I hope you guys have had a good start to May despite the current situation that has been going on! I'd like to take this time to thank all the essential workers all over the world who have sacrificed time with their loved ones (and a lot of rest) to fight the virus and to keep us comfortable and safe.
This week's blogpost is going to be a short one, I've noticed that this Real Calendula Peel Off Mask by April Skin has been floating around my facebook and instagram ads, so I caved in and decided to give it a go (I'm very tempted to try the carrot serum too, it looks pretty good). I do love a good peel-off face mask so this product was up my alley. Also, being at home 24/7 has given me a lot more time to do the things I need and want, be it working on improving Our Personal Co. or taking better care of my skin.
I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a peel-off mask, so you can imagine just how excited I was. This mask is meant to take out all the gunk in your pores without being too tough on the skin like a regular peel-off nose patch. I used to use those a lot, and while they do get the job done, I find that it isn't as gentle on the skin. With this mask, I don't feel any tugging or like a layer of my skin is being ripped off with the whiteheads, and my skin does not feel irritated/dry after!
I must say that this can be a little messy because the formula is very liquid-y and sticky! You may need to experiment one or two times to get it right because too thin of a layer will not get you that satisfying peel, and too thick of a layer will give you some dripping action which isn't really what you would want. Getting an even layer on your face also takes some practice, but the spatula that they give really helps in spreading the mask. I would not recommend applying the mask with your fingers!
I also need to mention that this mask is really refreshing too! It smells really good, just a light floral smell, but there's also this tinge of alcohol-y smell to it (I personally don't mind it) but it does give this amazing cooling feeling too which I really appreciate, especially in Singapore's weather!
I didn't take 'before and after' photos because the difference can't really be seen and I didn't want to take a picture of the sheet of 'mask' with all my whiteheads on it haha! I do feel that my skin is softer and a lot cleaner after this mask, honestly! I do think you need to use it every few days to consistently improve your skin. I personally use it once to twice a week!
