Ms Singapore Beauty Pageant 2019 | Event Lookbook

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I've done a lookbook, and I'm happy to be back with one ^^ It's been a few weeks since the new queens for Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant have been crowned, and I thought I'd do a lookbook for all the fringe events and finals. It was nice to see the ladies grow throughout their pageant journey, and I'm truly happy for all of them! If you haven't read my previous blogposts or watched the vlogs, you can do so here:

A huge thank you to Joyce and to Papa Wong for taking all these photos for me once again! My previous pageant lookbook was also taken by them ^^ If you'd like to see even more photos, my full lookbook can be accessed through here, or simply scroll through my gallery in the menu above! Shall we get on with the looks?

Outfit 1: Charity Day

Top: Cotton On Skorts: Bershka

Shoes: Supega

Watch: Fitbit Charge 3

Sunglasses: Dior

It was my first time wearing this shirt and I definitely had mixed feelings about it. I got this shirt because I liked the tie-dye effect and I was a huge fan of barbie growing up. However, I didn't take into account how the colour would look on me. It's brighter than what I'm used to, but I suppose it looks alright. I might not really feel inclined to wear the top again, though! On the fun side, I was blending in with the contestants since their official MSBP tank tops were almost the same shade of pink!

I did think of wearing shorts to the event, but decided against it and wore my favourite pair of skorts so that I'd be completely comfortable but somewhat presentable. I did wear my favourite pair of sneakers which have been worn endlessly too, which was good since we did have a fair bit of walking when the contestants gave out the food rations!

I paired this outfit with black rubber straps on my fitbit! I've been wearing my fitbit for a while now and it's been so useful, especially on shoots since I won't have time to glance at my phone so often! I love how the fitbit has interchangeable straps as well, so I can match my outfits for different occasions! The original colour that I got was the pink/rose gold hardware with grey straps, in case you're wondering!

Outfit 2: Talent Round

Dress: Cotton On

Shoes: Aldo

Watch: Fitbit Charge 3

Sunglasses: Dior

I didn't wear anything too fancy this time round since the talent round wasn't held indoors this year! I went for a casual dress from Cotton On, this particular one's becoming one of my favourite dresses because it's so comfortable and versatile. I think it came in two other colours, but of course, I'm a huge fan of black so you guys know I'd shy away from the other colours!

I paired this dress with my Aldo sneakers which I bought with W a few years back before our trip to Japan! These shoes have been worn quite a fair bit too and they've been so comfortable too! They are on the tighter side, so it's not really my go-to if I was going to walk for a long time!

For my fitbit, I decided to use the pink/rosegold metal straps that match the hardware itself! I love this seamless look for my fitbit during events because it looks elegant! The metal strap that I bought makes use of a magnet though, so it does prove slightly inconvenient from time to time as it sticks to quite a few things and it isn't as secure as the rubber straps. However, it doesn't make me shy away from using my fitbit during semi-formal events!

Outfit 3: Grand Finals

Dress: Alelux Luxury Gown Rental

Shoes: Bangkok

Bag: Ted Baker

I have been dreaming of wearing this dress for a while now, and I was so happy to finally get the chance to wear it! I've been eyeing it since one of last year's MSBP contestants wore it for pre-judging and won best dressed! It did suit the look I was going for last year, however, I didn't want to wear it so soon after the dress was used, so I decided to wait until this time to wear it. Let me just say, I do not regret it one bit! I was so happy to be in this gown and I felt amazing with the glittery sequins. It wasn't a hassle at all and I love the off shoulder neckline. The only thing would be the corset-style back, which i'm unable to lace up myself, so I did have to trouble my mum to help me with it!

I paired it with my black stiletto platforms from Bangkok! Since the shoes had glitter, it did catch onto the inner layers of the gown from time to time so it did make it hard for me to walk. I'd say that's the only regret I had about my outfit, as this gown was meant to be very easy to walk in! Thankfully, the inner layers of the gown weren't damaged. I know you guys can't see the shoes, so it doesn't particularly matter until I'm climbing up the stairs (when I hold my gown up), but the extra height does wonders for this gown, and you know what they say, heels somehow make you stand up a lot straighter!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little lookbook! I promise I will come up with more in time to come, and it won't only be pageant related! I'll see you guys in my next blogpost!

xx
